- Support Tools
Computers are an integral part of our lives. They are used at every juncture, and of course play a major role in businesses. In fact, the smooth working of small, medium, big and very big enterprises depend heavily on the computer. But they aren’t perfect, and it would be unfair to consider them as perfect.
Hence, as long as there is data, there would also be the fear of data loss.
If there is effective recovery system of that data, it could mean the judgment day for the precious information that you so carefully stored in your computer. At worst, it could mean the ruin of your business as well.
There are various data recovery methods, the best considered among them are Data Recovery Software’s. Data Recovery Software recovers deleted files and lost files, as well as formatted, damaged or corrupted data from the hard disk or data storage media.
Using data recovery software is no rocket science. So, it is advised that if you want to install one in your computer, it should have a user friendly design, robust feature set and efficient data recovery capability. Now the just mentioned terms are data recovery jargons that you need to know. They will help you in determining what software is best for you.
* Feature Set- Good data recovery software’s are equipped with tools that can retrieve valuable lost information from more than one source and provide support for drives and storage devices. This is known as a feature set.
You need to: look for software that has the above and also affords multi-file-system compatibility. You should preferably go for software that can retrieve data deleted from the recycle bin, hard drive or even those data which are lost due to accidents, like power cuts.
* Installation- Installing the data recovery software in the computer is what comes after choosing the right software. In a layman’s term, good software is one that can be easily installed and even a novice user should not find it too tough to install such software.
You need to: look for software that is user intuitive, which is, it should require minimum effort from your side. Look for data recovery software in which all instructions are clearly stated before you, and you just have to select your option. Let the program do the rest. Most superior data recovery software’s these days are user friendly.
* Effectiveness- An effective Data Recovery Software should be able to retrieve data and put it back to its original state.
You need to: look for data recovery software that is not only easy to use but effective as well. After all, what you need is your precious data retrieved.
* Search Capabilities- good data recovery software’s have higher searching capabilities.
You need to: simply look for software that would allow you to look for your data in various ways, for example-sort by name, date, size and keyword.
* Support Tools- They are one of the most essential elements of the software. They are basically the fall-back options if something goes wrong while installing the software. The more the support solutions, the better.
You need to: select software which answers all your queries and has a wide variety of questions to answer regarding the data recovery installation process.
Last, but certainly not the least, it is advised that you go for a reputed data recovery software company. After all, only you can understand the worth of your precious data.

Get Digital in 2008 with a PDA. By: Allweb
A personal digital assistant is the best way to organize your busy schedule as effectively as possible. The PDA is a small gadget that will fit in anyone’s pocket and will do so many things for a person. At the beginning, the PDAs were meant to be only organizers, but the latest PDAs such as the Gmate Yopy, the BlackBerries, the HP iPaq feature MP3 players, radios plus cameras and recorders, which means that these are multi purpose devices that can come in handy to a wide range of people. The best and the latest such gadgets on the market are the HP iPaq PDA, Acer N Series PDA, AlphaSmart PDA, Amida PDA, BlackBerry PDA, Casio Pocket Viewer PDA, Dell Axim PDA or the GMate Yopy.
Do you want to check your email? Your PDA gives you access to Internet so you can check out several web sites as well. The connection on your PDA is good, so you can use this while you are away on business or you simply out of the office and away from a computer. As a matter of fact, a PDA can easily replace a laptop, being many times smaller than a laptop. But there is only one small drawback: the screen is small; however, the screen may be a touch screen for the newest PDAs and it is available as colored screen as well. If you need to calculate anything, you can use the PDA. Other features that a PDA has in stock for you are the camera features: you can take pics, record videos, and then you can typewrite, use the PDA as a word processor, or make your spreadsheets for a presentation. Last but not least, a PDA has an incorporated mobile phone, being a good GPS, so you can’t complain, this gadget has them all.Friday, August 1, 2008
Why Should You Start a Blog?
If you have a business either online, offline or both, you need a blog. Major industry players like PR leader Hill and Knowlton and computer maker Dell, among others, have already built a strong and loyal blog following. Businesses use this communication medium to enhance customer relationships, strategically position their company, show their expertise, test new ideas and products and strengthen consumer interest.
But equally important to corporate bloggers are the individuals who use their blog as a diary or forum for personal expression. Bloggers add tremendous value, providing independent journalism, sharing stories which might otherwise be considered too controversial or insignificant for mainstream media, exposing scams, sharing universal experiences or providing entertainment.
Blogs give users the control to set privacy preferences, allowing full public distribution, subscriber or invite-only, or restricted access to only the poster. This helps anyone stay in touch, build a social network or private journal. Post opinions, or share poetry or artwork on your blog and open up rewarding feedback and communications opportunities.
To engage their readers, bloggers can include home or viral videos, audio clips, photos and downloadable files like a resume, brochure or white paper. The more interactive the better, with popular bloggers talking to their audience, asking questions and soliciting advice. This makes readers feel important and involved.

How to Surf The Web Safely Through Proxy
As shown by the online etymology dictionary the word proxy comes from the term prokecye, which means "agency of one who acts instead of another" it is also contraction of Anglo-Fr.term "procuracie", from M.L. procuratia "administration," from L. procuratio "care, management," from procurare "manage"
In order to eliminate the complexity of the origins of the word we will use the first one "agency of one who acts instead of another" when we translate and incorporate such terms into the computer world, internet to be more precise, we see that some machines act on behalf of others in order to keep the requester of the information anonymous, untraceable and safe.
Proxies are web services which are free (most of the time) and provide security to internet users who browse several pages a day and are concerned with spyware, hackers and other forms of malicious applications which use the information transmitted by your browser through its header. Without using a proxy a web site which has tracking software and scripts can tell the exact geographical location of your system, in other words you can be located easily.
Another function of the proxy is to speed up your web browsing speeds by acting as a buffer which gathers the pages you request and sends it to your computer. There are three types of proxies:
Transparent proxies:
These are used by people who want to speed up their web browsing experience without hiding any information, the proxy server will reveal your system information just like you would if you were not using this service.
Anonymous:
This type of proxy speeds up your connection just like the transparent option but it doesn't transmit your IP address and system information so you remain as the name implies, anonymous. There is one small detail though, when you use anonymous proxies the servers are configured to send variables to the sites which let them know that you are using a proxy.
High Anonymity:
Through this proxy type you can speed up your connection and browse the web in a complete stealth mode. No information from your system is transmitted and the proxy server doesn't send any variables indicating you are using a proxy, this allows you to go from site to site in a faster more secure way.
As you see there is more than it meets the eyes when it comes to weird computer terms, learning how to find an configure these systems to work with your applications will allow you to remain anonymous while browsing any site.
INTERNET HISTORY: Beyond ARPANET, By: Ron Porter
Depending on whether a given computer site on the ARPANET was busy – or perhaps taken out by a bomb – the same route might not be available for all the data packets. This was okay, because it was not necessary for all of the packets to take the same route. As long as the packets carried the information to the destination computer where it could be reassembled, any computer on the network was as good as the next. ARPANET also created certain basic network communications and control protocols known as Transmission Control Protocol/ Internet Protocol, or the ever famous TCP/IP. It simply refers to the set of rules by which computers linked to the Internet use to operate and handle the data received over a network.
The ARPANET became ever more popular and interconnected, and its user base grew by leaps and bounds. Eventually, commercial computer sites began hooking into the network as well as educational, scientific and governmental sites that had more tradition on the network. As the network grew, the military moved its portion of ARPANET to another entity, and thus the Internet was left to take shape.
In 1989, researchers at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) created a worldwide network of supercomputers to smooth the progress of access to data for doctors, physicists, and other scientists and technocrats. The CERN network quickly grew into the massive Internet area called the World Wide Web. The web is what most people today call the Internet, although there is in fact much more to it. With page-oriented documents and links to graphics, sounds, and videos, today the Internet is truly a multimedia experience.
Internet and Search Engines
- The first time I accessed internet was in the year 2006, since then I visited a numerous websites for various purposes. We all know the best Search Engine today is perhaps Google. But we should also know that there are other Search Engines which can solve our requirements better sometimes.
Information available on the Internet can be searched using tools available on the Internet called Search engines, meta-search engines and subject/virtual directories.
Search Engines: They maintain their own databases of Web pages. You can type the keyword to be searched and the Search engine returns you the links to related web pages from their database.

Meta-Search Engines: Unlike a Search engine, a meta-search engine does not have its own database. Instead, when you submit a keyword in the search box, a meta search engine quickly and superficially visits several individual search engines at once. It does so by transmitting the keyword simultaneaously to various search engines, which search for the keyword in their own databases and return the results to the meta-search engines.

Subject Directories or Virtual Directories: These are the directories maintained by individuals as against the databases that are maintained by electronic spiders in search engines. Individuals review and select sites for inclusion in their directories.
